Flight Planning
- Look first at the map of the potenzial VFR hours. You can get an extremely fast overview concerning the meteorological restriction during daylight time.
- Then move to the surface chart which show weather fronts and pressure areas. In general, avoid the vicinity around fronts.
- You can then inquire about the significant weather in the planned period, for example, where you see indications of low stratus or layer clouds or thunderstorm symbols.
- The satellite map is an almost real-time, true picture from outer space. It reveals fog and low stratus cover or other cloud cover which may not be shown by the model.
- Consult the wind fields last.
